ABSTRACT
Multiple casualty incidents (MCI) are a challenge for emergency medical systems. Triage is the axis around which revolves healthcare response and largely determines the result of the response. This article presents a conceptual review of triage, considering its features and role in the healthcare response. In addition, the main triage models and their actual problems of its application are analyzed.
